DEC-9S is a 9 pin socket connector commonly used for various computer interfaces and peripherals such as serial cables, midi devices and printers. This connector is also known as DE-9, DB-9, and RS-232 or DE-9P. The DEC-9S pinout consists of 5 ground pins and 4 signal pins, and is typically color-coded on the outer casing. This connector became widely popular in the 80s and early 90s but has since been replaced by newer and faster technology.
